Italian Marble Statue of a Fisher Boy (62″ height) arrived without a left arm and the upper part of his fishing rod. The missing parts were carved from a solid piece of Carrara marble. The seam where the two pieces were joined was hidden with our TCJ (Translucent Compound Joint) technology. The new part was patinated to match the color of the entire piece.
Late 17th Century Chinese Cobalt Blue on White Porcelain Vase (14” heigh) This vase was made using slightly bluish transparent glaze, and a cobalt blue paint for the design, which is very difficult to imitate as it gets blurry edges after firing. Both ears ware missing, and it had a web crack around the neck. As we could not find the same kind of vase we designed the ears from scratch based on the painting style, and what was available as an example from the same region and time period.
